Shady Oak school PTA is a local chapter of the National PTA and Texas PTA. PTA is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit association that prides itself on being a powerful voice for all children, a relevant resource for families and communities, and a strong advocate for public education. Membership in PTA is open to anyone who supports the PTA mission and wants to be involved to make a difference for the education, health, and welfare of children and youth.
The Shady Oak school PTA is organized by an Executive Board, school directors/faculty, committees, and members.
The Executive Board is comprised of each campus' Director and the following elected positions: President, Vice President of Membership, Vice President of Programs, Treasurer, and Secretary. These elected positions can only be filled by the same person a maximum of 2 consecutive years. Each year committees are formed around the programs for that year. Volunteers may serve on the different committees. Members have strengths in a variety of areas that can serve our mission.
